We are a 24/7 station playing the best in classic jazz from the 1940’s to 70’s. This includes album tracks, jazz poetry, the best of Blue Note, interviews from the greats and slices of jazz history. Artist featured includes; Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong, McCoy Tyner, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and many more great musicians and vocalists. We are the home of classic jazz.

History

Giants of Jazz Radio is an internet radio station, playing classic Jazz tracks from the 1940's - 1970's. Before working as a Project Manager, Station Manager Alan Bramwell, based in Ipswich, UK, had previously worked as a Radio Producer and Community Broadcaster for over 25 years. When he was gifted an internet radio provider one Christmas, he realised that this was a passion he wanted to revisit, and so in late December 2011 Giants of Jazz Radio was born. Within a month he was producing high-quality shows and developing varied playlists, attracting listeners from the UK, South America, Asia and Europe. The station's mission is simple: to provide an eclectic, first-rate and engaging internet radio service, which honours and celebrates the greatest music on earth and its global fan base. It works to engage with its internet listeners, providing them with high-quality and impactful broadcast material. Giants of Jazz Radio is currently offering budding writers, Jazz enthusiasts and music journalists the exciting opportunity to develop new skills by getting involved in creating written and video content for the website. GoJR is 100/100 stars not 5/5. For jazz culture, jazz history, an excellent diverse mix of jazz and for no obnoxious commercial spam that commits musical sacriledge every other song... No commercials at all is VERY RARE as is the quality of this radio station and it's shows. I'm extremely greatful someone out there cares. (GJ Adam!) There appears to be thousands of hours of music here where some so called jazz stations literally have a few hours music on repeat playlist that never changes, GoJR has masses and masses of juicy delicious jazz. Bigband, Acid Jazz and many varients of jazz hybrid music, artistic and by the book. Long live Giants of Jazz radio. I do not think anyone will ever beat this station for quality. It's rare, like diamonds or gold. Best wishes and luck for donations and success. - JCN Scotland.

What could be the reason there is no sound?

1. Make sure your speakers and the media player are not muted :) Not an uncommon problem ;)
2. Please try again in another browser, preferably Chrome, Firefox and when using a windows media player option Internet Explorer.
3. Try another stream type clicking: windows media player or external player as alternative
4. Be patient, some radiostations load within 10-20 seconds due to high traffic issues.
5. If you do not have any flash player we automatically load the second best player, so again be patient.
6. If the stream doesn't start automatically please click the play button or the mp3 option on the right, please retry 1,2 or 3 times. Most of the times this works.
7. If you are using a windows media player, this will mostly only work in Internet Explorer.
8. A radiostation might be temporarily unavailable due to several reasons. If your favorite station is not working right now, please try again in a few moments.
9. The media player isn't showing/working in your browser, check below what you can do about it
10. Try another computer or device (tablet, phone etc).
11. Some radiostations have limited rights for international broadcasting. Some stations only broadcast in their own country. For example BBC in the UK and lots of stations in the US. If you really want to listen use a proxy server from that specific country to solve this problem.
12. Report this issue using our Broken Link page or send an email to [email protected]. We are able to see if there is something wrong.

Why do I see a grey screen?

Stream keeps on buffering
In Windows Media Player you can improve this. Go to Extra, Options, and then tab performance to extend the netwerkbuffer to 15 seconds.
